We have arrived!

After a hasty drive to SFO and a quick non-existant transfer in Detroit, we finally made it to Paris. Suprisingly, we had no trouble with luggage and after a short wait secured transport to our hostel. The hostel is pretty nice. We have a huge window that opens up to the street below. (See Picture) With the time left in the day we surveyed the city's downtown area. We bought Louvre tickets in advance, walked along the Seine, previewed the Notre Dame and walked along the Rue du Rivoli. All in all, it was a pretty successful trip. Amy and I were amazed at Paris' beauty, but also the amount of smokers. Also, it seemed as if people smelled really bad or really good. Every now and then we caught a whiff of some nice smelling perfume.

Highlight: Watching young Parisians moon tour-boat tourists along the Seine. High culture at its best.
