Farewell to the Czech Republic

We figured we ought to make the most of the free Internet (one of the few free things we've encountered here) we have here at our hostel and post again...

Since we didn't get to see much of the Jewish Quarter yesterday (yeah, we forgot what day it was and tried to go on the Jewish Sabbath, whoops!), we tried again today, but to get in to see anything like old synagogues (including the oldest in Europe!) or the cemetery cost way too much, so we skipped out on that.

Instead, we went into the Museum of Decorative Arts, where on display were textiles, clocks, dishes, posters, and photos ranging from the 4th century to the present. Okay, there were no photos from the 4th century, but there was a cute shoe reportedly from that period. On our way out, we made a pit stop, where we discovered a fantastic view of the Jewish Cemetery we had wanted to see!

Had a lovely lunch at Svejk Restaurant (thank you, Aileen!), then meandered through and napped in Letna Park, from where we could see most of Prague.

Overall, we've enjoyed Prague, despite our first impression of the city. Onward to Vienna!

We're running out of room for pictures here, see more pictures at www.rustyandamygoeuro.fotopic.net.

Hey you guys
Sorry Prague was so crowded for you...but I am glad that you liked the Mucha Museum (one of my favorites) and Svejk sp? restaurant. Was I right about the charles bridge?? Best time to see it is late at night-- less people.
Happy travels,
Aileen
I want a slide show when you get back
